UCSD Mural Job

Master Installer Chooses Vescom Wallcovering for Student Housing at UCSD

The University of California, San Diego recently updated three student housing buildings with 35 new digitally printed wall murals. The dormitories at the La Jolla campus were being considered as an “alternate care setting” for hospital patients during the pandemic, but ultimately were not needed. Master Installer, Greg McAllister, owner of All American Wallpapering, a member of WIA with 40 years of experience, was looking for a non-woven, Type II compliant wallcovering for this important project when he found Vescom Polster 20oz Non Woven.
“I highly recommend Vescom wallcovering,” says Greg, “There are very few non-woven products on the market so I was happy to find Vescom Polster. I used the 54-inch wide size and pasted the wall, not the paper—it went up seamlessly and was installed in far less time! I needed a durable paper for this heavily trafficked space and Vescom wallcovering is Type II compliant, so I was assured of its durability. This material is also safe for sensitive environments such as schools, hospitals and public buildings.”
Non-woven wallcovering is fast becoming designers, installers, consumers and printer’s preferred substrate. Really the only substrate suitable for digital printing, it is known for its sturdiness, easy application and seamless results. Vescom Wallcovering is also dry strippable, meaning no steaming and scraping to remove. Vescom wallpaper meets Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements for low-VOC emitting products and is Class A fire-resistant.
Vescom Digital Wallcovering is fully stocked and available with warehouses that ship from the U.S. Vescom Digital Wallcovering prints brilliant image quality and comes in a multitude of finishes.
